Government Relations The American Medical Association recently named Cynthia Brown vice president of government affairs. In her new position, she will oversee the organizations divisions of congressional affairs, federal affairs and legislative counsel. Brown comes to the AMA from the American College of Surgeons where she spent the past 20 years, most recently as director of the ACS division of advocacy and health policy. Before joining ACS, Brown worked for the American Tort Reform Association, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association and as a staff assistant on the U.S.House Subcommittee on Health and the Environment (Energy and Commerce Committee).
